ST ANNE SODALITY BACKGROUND
The Cathedral’s St. Anne sodality has been in existence for a number of years and is gradually growing.
The sodality currently has 10 members. The executive Committee of the sodality is as follows:
Mrs Anna Nkoana -Deputy President, who is currently acting as the President.
The former President relocated to the EC late in 2015.
Mrs Lindelwa Jabavu- Secretary
Mrs Hannellie Khan-Deputy Secretary
Mrs Patricia Ngobeni -Treasurer
The sodality actively participates in Parish, Deanery and Diocese activities.
The sodality plays a leading role in the Prison Ministry and has developed a strong relationship with the Tshwane Female Prison. This ministry is specifically relevant in this Year of Mercy as it brings hope to the prison inmates who see themselves as outcasts and it also brings together women from other Cathedral sodalities to visit and share mass with the female inmates of different nationalities. In this way the ministry promotes social cohesion and is one way of promoting unity amongst the various women’s sodalities at the Cathedral.
We pray that this ministry grows as each engagement with the inmates is a powerful spiritual and learning experience for all involved.
