CATHEDRAL OF SACRED HEART YOUTH GROUP
Sacred Heart Youth Group is about young people that share a common interest which is our love for God! Six years ago a small group of young people came together to start the wonderful group that we have now. The Beginning of each year, we welcome young people of the church into our youth group. To date, we have about 20 active youth members. We may be a small number compared to this big church that we are in, but the tremendous amount of work, energy and time that we give to our church is amazing.
Of all the things we do, we pride ourselves in the charity work of our Soup Kitchen for the poor and the homeless on the streets of Pretoria. The friendships we have made with these less fortunate is a humbling and endearing one; seeing them living in sickness and ill-health, on the streets, with no meal for days except the one we give them, has pushed us to continue this small act of mercy. Singing is a talent for most of our youth members and we sing for the church every month, we sing at church events and concerts we are invited by other churches in our deanery and we also actively participate in youth events such as Night Vigils, concerts, retreats, youth days etc. And we are always available when the church needs us, whether it is to offer entertainment, to clean or help with cooking, to usher at events, we are there.
What drives us to do all this is the love of God, and we have dedicated ourselves to do everything for the greater Glory of Him who loves us!
We welcome all confirmed young people of the Cathedral to come and join us, you don’t have to sit by the sidelines and watch, come and share in this experience.
